Web Portfolio

These are a few of the web projects I have been a part of in the last couple of years. Some are older and some are new, some are all mine and a few I’ve worked with others (where noted.) Be sure to check out my print portfolio as well.

Alberta Cheerleading Association Website
The ACA wanted a facelift and a way out of their restrictive service by a local web company. I gave them a fresher look and a content management system that has made it a lot easier for them to update the ever-changing information on their website - all without needing to call me for changes.

Adult Fitness Tax Credit
Fitness Industry Council of Canada has been leading a national campaign to pass legislation for an Adult Fitness Tax Credit. This website holds all the information for fitness clubs across Canada to access. This site was developed with Gigasports, who developed the postcard delivery backend in ASP.

Bubbafans
A local fan commissioned this website as a tribute to a young motocross rider in the states. A very robust fan site complete with forum and picture galleries. Unfortunately it had to be taken down as the owner ran into trouble in terms of trademark issues with the motocross rider. It’s a shame, it was a nice site.

CLUBFIT
CLUBFIT’s website needed an update and in early 2007 I gave them a fresher look and updated the functionality of the site to include several new features. A refer a friend system, updated contact systems and an online sign up system for their corporate clients.

CLUBFIT Hourly Stats Program
While working for CLUBFIT I developed an online application for the staff to track their club’s performance in a variety of areas. Staff entered their stats for deals sold, groupx class attendance and much more. All stats were visible and reportable by the managers and easily helped them track their club’s performance. Created in PHP and using MySQL, this was developed in conjunction with ID Associates, a local development company.

Doghouse Wryly - Eric Miller
A local musician - Eric wanted something simple and easily update able with his local shows and CD sales. A self professed computer illiterate, Eric has been able to add, edit and delete info on his own website without any help from myself. I recommend checking out his music - he’s quite a talented performer with some amazing CD art (created by yours truly!)

DSP Hitches
DSP Hitches is one of western Canada’s largest manufacturer of trailer hitches and had been struggling with a disappearing web developer and the inevitable questions that are raised when your content hasn’t been updated in three years. Using a simple content management system I created an easy to use front and back end interface as well as a product drill down system whereby customers can select the vehicle they own and receive information on the trailer hitch that is specific for their vehicle. Built with PHP and utilizing a MySQL database

eFIC Newsletter
Fitness Industry Council of Canada sends a monthly email newsletter to their members and it definitely needed a facelift when I was hired. FIC wanted it to have it’s own identity so we created it to be similar but not exactly like the website I created for them. (which can be found below.)

eFIT Newsletter
eFIT News is CLUBFIT’s monthly email newsletter and is sent to their 25,000+ members each month. I developed an updated look and feel to the newsletter while aligning it with their current branding strategy and increasing their click through rates! yay click throughs!

Fitness Day on the Hill
In November 2006 Fitness Industry Council of Canada held a day long event on Parliament Hill promoting an Adult Fitness Tax Credit and wanted a website to complement the event and provide information to their members. Using static html I created a visually pleasing website with a few nice little features - namely a flash game of Tetris which wasted hours and hours of their member’s time.

Fitness Industry Council of Canada
Fitness Industry Council of Canada wanted a website that could keep up with the growing demands a Canadian-wide membership can put on an industry association. Using a content management system I created a nice community site complete with forum, classified listings, article directory and a few other nice features that will be able to grow with them as they expand and gather more members. Created in PHP and using a MySQL database to deliver dynamic content.
